Alloy 625 Fittings: Properties

There are many benefits to using alloy 625, otherwise known as Inconel 625 as a material for pipe fittings. Here are the main factors:

  • Alloy 625 is a nickel-based super alloy.
  • Super alloys are defined by characteristics such as high corrosion resistance, stability and strength.
  • Alloy 625 has excellent resistance to oxidation
  • Pitting and crevice corrosion resistance
  • Inconel alloys are frequently used for high temperature applications
  • Used in extreme environments: Natural gas processing, turbocharger rotors, gas turbine blades and in the chemical industry.
  • Non-magnetic and spark resistant
  • Resistant to stress corrosion cracking
  • Excellent fabricability
  • High strength

Industry Application Of Inconel 625

aerospace industry

Alloy 625 has many features that make it high-performance for many applications. Industries that use alloy 625 include: Aerospace, Chemical, Offshore and Marine, Nuclear, Oil and Natural Gas.

Inconel 625 is a good choice for the Offshore industry as in environments with seawater, fresh water and natural salts there is almost no attack. Alloy 625 is part of a broad range on Inconel alloys that are popular within the Aerospace industry. In fact, Inconel alloy 718 has been used by SpaceX for the new SuperDraco engine.

We can generally quote deliveries of less than 8 weeks for alloy 625 raw material, fittings and valves.

Titanium Pipe Fittings UK | High Quality Titanium Alloy

Titanium Pipe Fittings UK | High Quality Titanium Alloy

Titanium was first discovered in 1791 by William Gregor, a Reverend in England who had a keen interest in minerals. Several years later it was also re-discovered in the ore Rutile by a German chemist called Martin Heinrich Klaproth. (He also discovered Uranium, Zirconium and Cerium.)

The pure form of the elemental metal titanium was not made until 1910.

The metal was formed by Matthew A. Hunter, a metallurgist and inventor from Auckland, New Zealand.

Origin of name: Titanium is reference to “Titans”, the sons of the Earth Goddess in Greek mythology.

Titanium Pipe Fittings, Tube Fittings and Valves

The Aqueous Corrosion Resistance Of Titanium

    • Titanium resists all forms of corrosion from fresh or seawater to temperatures up to 260C.
    • Titanium tubing and instrumentation products have provided trouble-free seawater services for many industries
    • Titanium scored excellent on our Aqueous Resistance chart for Seawater and Chlorine (wet).
  • Upon exposure to air, the titanium alloy forms a passive oxide coating which protects the metal from further oxidation

More information can be seen on our special metals page.
