Tube fittings are used alongside various lengths of tube to alter or direct the flow of a material within a system.
Often, (particularly in plumbing and general use installations), the material is water. However, we produce specialised tube fittings that are capable for withstanding higher pressures and substances within the natural gas and petroleum industry.
There are many different types of tube fittings to cater to every need within both small and large spaces.
1. Elbow fitting

The ‘elbow’ is a tube fitting shaped (most commonly) at 90 and 45 degree angles to assist flow.
Our threaded elbows are one of our biggest sellers as there is a huge demand for this type of fitting within the Oil & Gas industries in particular.

Elbows provide a great solution for the change of direction to materials such as liquefied natural gas (LNG.)
Materials available: Stainless steel 316. High pressure Duoloc and Ringlok or alternatively 150 class low pressure set-ups.
2. Caps and plug fitting

Caps and plugs are a very important type of tube fitting. They provide a stop point at the end of tubing.
Depending on the material of the cap or plug, they can be soldered, threaded or glued.

Although suited to the same purpose as each other, plugs often fit inside the tubing and are threaded (to ensure future use of the tubing.)
Materials available: Stainless steel 316
3. Tee fitting

Tee fittings are the most useful type of tube fitting when more than one branch of direction is required.

They are essentially a long coupling with an ‘outlet’ on the side. Our tee fittings are often ordered by bulk for uses in gas distribution tubing.
Materials available: Stainless steel 316 for durable, long-lasting application. Also available in Inconel, Incoloy, Monel and other corrosion resistant alloys.
Note: As industry standard, ‘tube’ is measured in OD, whereas ‘pipe’ is measured in ID – however, there are cases of cross-over within the industry.
Be aware when you are ordering our tube, that we measure in OD which is the Outside Diameter. This is the same as our tube fittings.
4. Nipple fitting

A nipple provides the special function of allowing two separate fittings to be connected at each end.
Standard nipples are straight with x 2 male threads on each end for the connecting parts.
