Compression couplings for tubing and pipe are used often in piping and plumbing applications. Usually for short lengths of pipe or tubing, the term ‘coupling’ could indicate a few varied types of fitting.
- Single ferrule compression tube fittings: BSP, BSPT and NPTF male stud couplings, threaded male standpipe adaptors, female stud couplings, straight coupling, reducing couplings and adaptors, bulkhead tube fittings.
- Twin ferrule compression tube fittings: male stud couplings NPT, BSPT and BSPP, standpipe adaptors, female stud couplings in various threads, bulkhead, straight and reducing couplings. Thermo couplings and union connectors.
What Is A Coupling Fitting?
A coupling (or coupler) may refer to a short-piece of pipe with two female National Pipe threads or two male/female British Standard Pipe threads. Note: If two ends of the fitting are different, it can be referred to as an adapter rather than a coupling. When each end is the same M/M or F/F, but are of different sizes, the terms reducing coupling or reducer are often used. This stands true for Waverley Brownall reducing couplings, in which two different tube OD sizes are given within our catalogues for accurate fit.

Straight Coupling (Single Ferrule)
Available in Metric and Imperial sizes, Imperial sizing includes: 1/8″, 3/16″, 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″ and other common dimensions.

Bulkhead Coupling (Single Ferrule)
Our bulkhead coupling tube fittings come in both Male and Female connections within the single ferrule and twin ferrule range. Ringlok (twin ferrule) also offer Bulkhead to AN connector as an alternative connection type.

Our material as standard is stainless steel 316, but high-performance materials such as Hastelloy C-276 can be selected for corrosion prevention.
