Precision pipe fittings are used in areas where high temperatures and safe working pressure capabilities are needed. Often referred to as instrument pipe fittings or precision instrumentation, these fittings are manufactured from the material stainless steel.
Precision Pipe Fittings For Industrial Application
There is a big difference between pipe fittings used for industrial applications vs. general use. For example, pipe fittings that are manufactured in weaker or cheaper materials such as brass are often used in plumbing applications.
Due to the severity and corrosive nature of the industrial applications for our pipe fittings, stronger materials are used as a standard. Grade 316 holds general corrosive resistance and has been used extensively for the supply and control of UK gas.

On all instrument pipe fittings, different thread types can be found. We offer a wide range of thread types, from NPT, BSP and NPTF. Alongside the supply capability of many different sizes, this enables for an even broader range of use.
Working Pressure
Waverley Brownall have a high pressure range that can cope with pressures up to 6000 psi. There is also a low pressure pipe fittingrange, which is a cast range at 150lb class that consists of 90 and 45 degree elbows, equal tees, nipples, adaptors and plugs.

Sizes range from 1/8″ to 2″ on the majority
of our stainless steel pipe fittings.

Instrumentation Safety
The safe working pressure of pipe fittings and components for industries such as oil and gas are also maximised where possible. High pressure pipe fittings will thrive in areas of elevated temperature and even where corrosive media is present.
All stainless steel 316 fittings benefit from our cast coded system for easy tracing. After years of service, lower quality instrument pipe fittings may become worn. Unmarked or worn fittings are a huge problem for engineers working with the piping systems.
When replacement or maintenance is needed, the manufacturer or material of the fitting may not be able to be identified. This is a big risk factor that must be considered, especially since interchanging fittings on the same application can be incredibly dangerous.
